7 weeks of real entrepreneurship

Successful participation in the i.ku competition "7€ Cash@School"

At this year's 2nd round of the 7€ Cash@School project, initiated by the innovation platform Kufstein i.ku, ISK-students were able to demonstrate their entrepreneurial thinking and acting through real business activity. 20 teams from different schools in the Kufstein district put their innovative ideas to the test. They achieved a record result of over € 7,320.

The aim of the cooperation project with the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and the support of STARTUP.TIROL, the WKO Kufstein and the Sparkasse Kufstein is to motivate students to playfully deal with economic issues such as entrepreneurship and business start-ups.

Support for innovative business ideas

The students started their business activities at the end of October 2019 with the payment of the € 7 starting capital per team. The participants developed exciting and innovative business ideas with a lot of creativity, for example colorful shoelaces and sustainable glass bee houses.

Until December 23, 2019, the young entrepreneurs sold their products to both private and business customers with great success and commitment and afterwards reported their results to the coaches supervising them.

Grand finale of the competition

On February 4, 2020, the grand finale took place at FH Kufstein Tirol with over 220 participants. Each team presented their project in a five-minute “elevator pitch” and then answered the questions of a jury. After the interesting presentations, the three best teams in the competition were awarded and received prizes.

Third place went to the ISK team "Color Laces" with the idea for self-made colorful shoelaces (prize money 150 €). The team also won the special prize "Best Video" (prize money 100 €)!

Overall, the jury confirmed that all teams presented their projects convincingly and can therefore be proud of their € 7 cash company certificates. Together the teams generated a record profit of € 7.320, which they donated to self-selected social and non-profit projects.
