"New biological life" in the Biology Lab
Combination of theory and practice is an important element of modern teaching practices
In January new populations from the animal kingdom moved into the biology lab. Four new gold fish in the aquarium were baptized Wanda, Winnifred, Björn and Bert. Those animals are gold fish varieties (Carassius sp. Bloch, 1782) of the family Cyprinidae.
The new terrarium is populated by a group of migratory locusts (Schistocerca gregaria Forsskål, 1775).
The aim is to identify and describe the typical characteristics of animal groups - in this case vertebrates / fish or invertebrates / insects.
Biology teacher Peter Holzknecht and the students are looking forward to new findings and many interesting experiences.
