The curtain raises for the K.E.T. - Kufstein English Theatre

The school theater at the ISK Tirol invited to the "blood wedding" and took the visitors into a rural region of Spain at the beginning of the 20th century

The "Blood Wedding" by Federico Garcia Lorca tells about the misery of women in the rural areas of Spain. What began as an auspicious wedding ended in a scandal...

It was a special theater evening under the direction of Klaus Reitberger, which the students of grade 10 offered to the numerous visitors at the Kulturquartier Kufstein on June 4. The young people showed their impressive acting skills, which they acquired during the school year in the subject "Theatre - Drama in Education".

The evening was followed by two sold out performances for schools from the region on June 5. The young guests of these performances were also enthusiastic about the outstanding performances and gathered many valuable impressions.

"Kufstein English Theatre" is a project of International School Kufstein Tirol. Every year, students of 6th class (school year 10) perform a stage play in English. The planning for next year has already started.

The ISK students experience in the subject "Drama in Education" how theater educates, strengthens the personality, increases creativity and last, but not least, promotes communication skills.

A special thank you goes to the supporters of the evening: Sparkasse Kufstein, the city of Kufstein,  Stadttheater Kufstein and Druckerei Aschenbrenner
