A great honor for the International School Kufstein Tirol: The school is among the 15 educational institutions from all across Austria that were officially recognized as an “Ambassador School of the European Parliament” on November 28 in Vienna.
The certificate acknowledges the school’s outstanding commitment to bringing European cooperation closer to its students and actively promoting dialogue on European values, institutions, and current topics.
Students and teachers as ambassadors
During a formal ceremony at the House of the European Union, not only the school itself was honored, but also the dedicated individuals involved. Selected ISK students serve as Junior Ambassadors, while teachers act as Senior Ambassadors. Through EU-related projects and activities, they all play a key role in meeting the program’s criteria.
ISK Senior Ambassadors Johanna Rauch and Sonja Nothegger-Troppmair explain the special significance of the award:
“As an international school, we are committed to fostering a comprehensive understanding of European values, democratic processes, and the role of the European Union in shaping our shared future.”
Benefits for the school community
The certification provides the school with a sustainable partnership with the European Parliament. The program also includes access to training and continuing education in the European context, extensive teaching materials, and the organization of trips to Brussels and Strasbourg.
The award reaffirms ISK Tirol’s continuous commitment to providing young people with a strong European perspective and supporting them in becoming engaged and responsible individuals.
