LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL

In the 5th up to the 8th the ISK Tirol offers a modern curriculum linked to the international curriculum of the “IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)”.

In the first class (5th grade), the students will be taught bilingual (in German and English) and monolingual (English). Starting with the second class English becomes the language of classroom instruction.

Cultural diversity enriches. Local German speaking kids rapidly achieve an excellent English level in all offered subjects. Students with another native language then German and with an international background receive a modern education in English and learn the German language as well.

At best qualified teachers (German and English native speakers) individually guide the students. The range of subjects of the lower secondary school prepares the students optimally for the upper secondary school of the ISK Tirol and the IB Diploma Programme.

UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL

The curriculum of a normal “Oberstufenrealgymnasium” with all general subjects of a secondary school creates the basis for the education programme in the 4 years of secondary school (9th up to 12th grade).

In addition to the general curriculum the ISK Tirol, as an "IB World School", is authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme (recognised worldwide). Special attention is payed to those specific subjects in the last two grades and everything is excellently linked to the Austrian curriculum.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP)

For the two-year IB Diploma Programme (grades 11 and 12) the students must choose six subjects from six subject groups.

The students need to choose three out of six IB subjects at higher level (240 teaching hours in grades 11 and 12) and three at standard level (150 teaching hours in grades 11 and 12), according to their own interests and competences. For detailed information, please refer to www.ibo.org
