On Friday, April 24th, starting at 4:00 PM, ISK Tirol will be participating in the Long Night of Research at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in the physics lab – with a program for the whole family!
What can you expect?
Interactive stations and a quiz:
- Fascinating physics and chemistry to try out – How does a lava lamp work? / What is both liquid and solid? / Secret messages with lemon juice / My cup as an erupting volcano
- For all ages: Explained in a child-friendly way, clearly demonstrated, and explored in greater depth for interested adults
- Personal interaction: ISK upper-level students will guide you through the experiments, answer questions, and show how exciting research can be
Who's organizing it?
The supervision and execution in the physics lab will be handled by dedicated upper-level students as part of their CAS project.
In short: CAS in the IB Diploma Programme CAS stands for Creativity, Activity, Service and is a central component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). The goal is to encourage students beyond the classroom through creative projects, sports activities, and community service. In CAS projects, students independently plan, implement, and reflect on initiatives—such as these supervised science stations—and develop teamwork, a sense of responsibility, and problem-solving skills.
