As part of the volunteer week at the end of April, a group of 6th grade students in the subject Design were creatively involved in practical work

"ESSENTIALS" - Students took part in graffiti project

Together with refugees from various countries, the young people designed the façade of the Tiroler Soziale Dienste accommodation in Kufstein with colourful designs. True to the motto "Essentials" - a project as part of the anniversary month celebrating 20 years of basic services, initiated by the KUUSK regional management and the TSD - Tiroler Soziale Dienste.

Daphna Weinstein, design teacher at the International School, prepared the pupils for the task in class and supervised the work on site. She was delighted with the success of this pilot project: "The students took on the design challenge, planned different variations and realised the work with the residents of the accommodation. The area became a lively place full of creativity and exchange of ideas."

The results are worth seeing. It is projects like this that make lessons exciting and offer real added value for society. Special thanks go to Carmen Schwinghammer from the Freiwilligenzentrum, supervisor Bernhard Kapfinger and Shiva Swist-Standl (graduate of ISK Tirol) for their support during implementation.
