The Content:
George Orwell’s vision of a dark future that we never want to experience has haunted us since its publication in 1948. He shows a bleak world where everything is controlled by a ruthless totalitarian regime that tries not only to control its citizens’ actions but also their thoughts. Can the protagonist Winston Smith escape from this madness? What about Julia, the woman that keeps observing him at work? Is she a spy of the thought police? And what about O’Brian the powerful inner-party member who might be working for a secret rebellion? Nothing is as it seems in the terrible world of “1984”.
