Kufstein to become an international hub for young theatre enthusiasts from 1–4 April 2027 – with active participation from ISK Tirol

International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) comes to Kufstein

From Thursday, 1 April to Sunday, 4 April 2027, the International School Kufstein (ISK Tirol) will host the ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association) High School Festival. ISK students will join young people from around the world in an immersive, multi-day theatre experience. Working in mixed ensembles, participants from different schools and cultural backgrounds will collaborate to create original theatre pieces under the guidance of professional theatre artists.

A key focus of the festival is hands-on, experiential theatre-making. The unique culture, history, and landscape of Kufstein and Tyrol region will serve as inspiration for the creative process. The festival will conclude with a final sharing of the ensemble-created work, showcasing the ideas and performances developed throughout the event.

ISK Tirol’s theatre teachers, Lena Middeldorf and Klaus Reitberger, play a leading role in planning and organising the festival, helping to create a space where young people can explore creativity, collaboration, and intercultural exchange. The festival promises unforgettable encounters, fresh perspectives, and the opportunity to experience the power of theatre to connect people across borders.

ISK Tirol is delighted to be part of this special event and looks forward to welcoming students, educators, and theatre artists from around the world to Kufstein.
